This is an outstanding piece of work. The aura of Powell River with its resident fishing boats is portrayed beautifully. The vessel “Shirley” is very thought provoking to me personally.

I am very pleased with the quality of the product, and the gift recipient loved it and brought them to tears as it was a sentimental gift.

Funny that you would mention the eyes, I thought it was intentional, it gives a very exaggerated look to the painting and makes it more unique. Gorgeous work.

Nice work.

It might just be me, but Farhan's art completely trumps just about all the other art I've seen on this site. The man is gifted. Free advice is worth about as much as the money it's printed on.

I agree with Barbara 100% . If you post you must be man enough or wonman enough to take constructive comments it all helps us be better artist. Be brave enough to post under your name . WE ALL LEARN FROM EACH OTHER.
Marlene Piccolin
Barbara, you were anything but mean. You qualified your statement right away with "it might just be me", only suggesting the artist check his reference. Obviously, artists can take liberties with art, but when rendering something intended to be realistic, you HAVE to be sure the anatomy is right, whether animal, human or architecture (which you are VERY good at). Anonymous needs to realize that posting on this site implies asking for critique. At least you had the guts to sign your name!

But then, wouldn't that defeat the purpose of learning? I wasn't trying to be mean.. I was trying to be helpful. That being said, if all slightly negative statements are never posted.. how will the younger artists ever learn if they have nothing to compare it to?

This painting is beautiful! I am sure if the artist thought the eyes were too high on the face, he wouldn't have posted it for the world to see. I have seen quite a few little critiques of paintings here and I am sure the artists appreciate them if they are requested, but sometimes it just looks obnoxiuos. If you have to find fault with someone's artwork, why not send them a private email?

It might just be me.. but I think you have the eyes to high up on the face...check it against your reference..
