Description
An area in the Kiabab mountain range of Northern Arizona, known as the White Pocket. I particularly like shooting the White pocket area because you encounter very few people as it is difficult to access. To get there it takes a 1 ½ hour road drive from the nearest civilization, followed by 1 hour off-road and then a half hour hike UP through alternating deep sand and hard scrabble desert. Sometimes people give perspective as to the scale of the monoliths which I like (as in the Narrows series) but the purity of unblemished rockscape is good too. Some places, such as Arches Nat. Park are very crowded because it is very easily accessed by car and can involve little hiking. The hiking is difficult for me but I can gut through and pay for it later.
Almost looks like it came from another world, Don't ya think?

Soldier, is this a Joshua tree? I don’t know of another tree that could emerge from the stony wrinkles of time unmeasured to grace your collection. You truly went to such rugged spaces and returned with Natures treasures. Thank you LF
