Thank you, Dave. I truly believe that art can make a strong statement about humanity, hopefully with the intention of not repeating its past errors. Unfortunately, I am not encouraged lately in that regard. I very much appreciate your great comment about my artwork!!!

Thanks so much, Lisa, for featuring this work in the In the Mood Group!

I appreciate your response Esther. I have a deep connection with the Holocaust.

No, ST, she is not a member of my family but a woman who lives in Israel. I did, however, have relatives who perished in the Holocaust and am even named after my mother's aunt Esther from Warsaw who died in an extermination camp.

Wow!Is she of your family?

This is an extraordinary image Esther. I have had engraved in my mind something I read of a large group of women held in a barracks for a number of days before being gassed, without food or water, horrible conditions, and the cry of one middle aged woman in particular. In my mind she looked like this, so seeing your painting had an immediate impact.

Thank you, ST, for your perspicacity and sensitivity. It's hard to imagine how anyone could have survived this. This woman did.

Awesome product. Got it in today and hung it up. Was a bit cautious having it shipped especially through UPS but it was packed super well and came in perfect condition even though UPS always beats up my boxes. Definitely will be lifelong decor considering the quality of the maple it is printed on. Would certainly recommend to anyone thinking of purchasing this.

I love the piece so much! How well it works in my whimsical blue garden! I just did not know to depict the rabbit hole in the Alice in Wonderland area that this is the perfect conceptual representation. It is beautiful and whimsical. As I had to place it on a stump where a branch had been sawed, I hired a one skilled with a jigsaw to round the edges a bit for visual believability and, after attaching it to the stump, added tiny pieces of bark around the edge to help it blend with the stump. Great discovery!

Artist's Description

"Why Me?" This Jewish woman asks. This painting shows the horror facing Holocaust victims. Even today many continue to suffer privation and recurring nightmares.
