One of several creations that came to life in the soon-to-be-removed (and therefore historic) Lobster Shack on the Ottison's property on Nantucket, most of the “in the window” series came about when it was “too windy to paint outside.” Drawn against a flowing “Up The Crick” background, the top third is crowned by a view of the town in subtle, hazy blues, peaked with iconic Methodist and Unitarian Steeples across the water. Paint marker as a medium pulls the chunky color of the blooms into the low-lying grasses and the hue of the distant village in a color-celebrative still-life that is more fluid than still.
