When windsurfing first really caught on in the '80s on Maui I would drive out to Ho'okipa on weekends and just sit on the bluff and watch in awe (and listen to the traditional surfers complain at the intruders on these new-fangled type of boards that were encroaching on their waves...) It still fascinates me how anyone can be so skilled as to pull off some of these maneuvers. I was always a spectator... I was never coordinated enough or athletic enough to even attempt this! LOL Sure do love watching it, however. Another marvelous capture, Bob. So glad you are back in the islands and actively photographing this exciting and thrilling sport. Featured in Hawaiiana.
