Description
Oneida Waterfall is located near the very top the Falls Trail, just below Mohawk Falls on the Ganoga Glen trail Ricketts Glen State Park. This is the second waterfall you will encounter from the Lake Rose parking area. It only takes about 15 minutes to reach this beautiful site. Even though it said March on the calendar, the signs of winter were still prevalent here.
Ricketts Glen State Park is located at the junction of RT-118 and RT 487 in north eastern Pennsylvania, USA. Red Rock is the nearest town, which is about half way between Williamsport and Wilkes Barre, PA. The Waterfall Loop in Ricketts Glen is often sited as the most beautiful hiking trail in all of Pennsylvania.
This photo was taken on the morning of March 2nd, 2011 on a winter hike with Kevin Hart. The image was captured with a Canon EOS 10D DSLR camera, through a Canon EF 17-40mm f/4L lens at the 17mm focal length. The shutter speed was 1/125th sec at f/4. The cameras ISO was set to 800. A light Bilora Super-Biloret tripod was used with a Bogen head.

Lovely sweep of untouched snow, but despite the still flowing water and sunshine, I'm thinking not the day for a dip! Beautiful scene to look at though! V (already faved)
Gene Walls replied:
Thanks a lot, Richard! That "wave" of snow caught my attention as soon as I saw the falls from downstream. I almost took an unintentional dip while crossing the stream to get to this spot, though. All part of the adventure nature photography. Kindest wishes, Gene
