This landscape oil painting was inspired by a trip across the mountain passes near Mount Hood in Oregon State, The road is lined with evergreen trees of fir and pine. Red rock gravel to aid winter travelers provides a wonderful contrast with the green of the trees and the blue shadows of the snowy roadside. Sunlight and blue skies contrast with the cold of the icy environment.
The original painting was created with oil paints on stretched canvas.
