"Winter Sunrise" Heber Valley, Utah, USA 1302-4-1862 [3:2] Winter sunrise on the ice of Deer Creek Reservoir in Heber Valley. This morning this was captured the temperature was 15 degrees F (-9 degrees C). We walked out onto the ice, and in a matter of minutes the sun crested over the horizon, casting a beautiful glow on the scattered layer of clouds. Deer Creek State Park is open year-round, with ice fisherman being the predominant visitors during winter. Most of the eastern perimeter of the reservoir is shallow water, with a translucent layer of ice, permitting this reflective view. The Deer Creek Dam was completed in 1941 and is 235 feet (72 meters) high. The maximum depth reaches 137 feet (42 meters). [source: Wikipedia].
