I had spent about an hour walking around a friend's house taking photos and making sketches for a couple of future watercolors. I was getting ready to walk back to my truck when this shed jumped out of the woods and hit me in the imagination. Last winter was brutal in the high country. A week earlier we had hiked to Crabtree Falls only to be horrified by the changes winter had wrought. I didn't even want to take any pictures. A little further up the parkway people had spent thousands of dollars having fallen trees cut off of their driveways and houses. The lighter color fire wood is from some of the trees that fell in last winterís storms. The darker wood escaped the wood stove last winter. Don't they make a lovely "Yin-Yang"?
