Description
Symbolic painting in watercolour about renewal, the circle of life and the joy of expectation.
A pregnant woman holds an acorn in her left hand, her right hand rests on her abdomen, she is surrounded by swirls of water, oak leaves and acorns, in the background an open window reveals a moonlit scene with a full grown oak tree which grows at the edge of a freshly ploughed field.
In the moonlight the oak leaves take on hues of grey, lilac, purple, teal and maroon. The woman's hair echoes the swirls of the background and evokes the flow of water and the stream of life.
A fragile peacock butterfly alights in the foreground . The Peacock butterfly is considered by many to be the most beautiful butterfly in the world.
