Thank you. The nature of ceramic glaze is that when it is fired in a kiln, it coats itself. Each color has a different chemical makeup, and the way the artist uses her palette, i.e., transparent colors, opaque colors, underglazes you can see through, overglazes you cant see through, etc., is what decides what the top coat looks and feels like. I usually use glossy glazes because they have a large palette of transparent colors, which I need because I do a lot of detail in underglazes.
