Wonderful image of a DC-3 Probably one of the greatest workhorse planes ever built. In some areas of the world, there are some that are still flying and still performing important functions.

Loved this onesie. Actually loved it so much I contacted the designer and had a special request to see if he could change the color of the FJ40 to match a friend of mines actual truck and he was more than willing to do it. So I ordered another onesie.

Artist's Description

Built in 1942, this plane spent the first three years in the camouflage colours of the United States Army Air Force (USAAF), flying transport missions in India and China. She was bought by Canadian Pacific Airlines in 1943 and converted to civilian DC-3 configuration. For 15 years she flew scheduled routes throughout Canada. In 1960, was sold to Connelly-Dawson Airways of Dawson City and worked as a bush plane for six years. Operating on skis or wheels, hauling supplies into remote places. From 1966 - 1970, was again based in Whitehorse serving scheduled and chartered routes of Great Northern Airways. She was used for parts then was finally donated to the Yukon Flying Club in 1977. The Club restored her to its Canadian Pacific Airlines colours for permanent display at the Whitehorse airport. In 1981, she was raised onto a pedestal where she pivots to the wind. It only takes a 5 knot wind to turn her.
