i love their antics this is such a beautiful image as all of your work is (funny story) i was in a bird blind once and four baby raccoons wandered in and they were making all kinds of racket I went to leave the blind and the mother was standing there as if to say what do you think youre doing

Kym Backland replied:

Heeeyyyy Joe, Your story is so funny! I love hearing..or "reading" the antics that happen in "your" life too! So, you have a BLIND...I'm so envious! I should buy one! Your raccoon story really made me laugh today! As I read your story I could just picture the faces of all the raccoons.. I can just image how the Mother's posture was! Probably she had a lot of "TUDE" short for "Attitude". I'm surey you knew that expression, but just in case....I had to write out the entire WORD! Thanks for today's chuckle Joe!

Artist's Description

These two are the funniest baby raccoons I have ever seen. They are very shy, but when they pop their heads up, they always jockey for position. Notice how the little coon on the left puts his "STOP" paw on his brother! Here is some of that annoying information you may or may not want to know about the Raccoon.. The size of a raccoon's home range as well as its nightly hunting area varies greatly depending on the habitat and food supply. Home range diameters of 1 mile are known to occur in urban areas. Mortality and Longevity.Raccoons die from encounters with vehicles, hunters, and trappers, and from disease, starvation, and predation. Young raccoons are the main victims of starvation, since they have very little fat reserves to draw from during food shortages in late winter and early spring. Raccoon predators include cougars, bobcats, coyotes, and domestic dogs. Large owls and eagles will prey on young raccoons. The average life span of a raccoon in the wild is 2 to 3 years; captive...

About Kym Backland

Capturing a moment in time, is one of the best emotions. I love seeing something thru the lens and holding it near you as long as you can. I like for that image to be caught by surprise. A pure emotion. That to me is usually the most interesting. Anyways.... Photography is my medium. I do enjoy photographing those "Funny Animals" I see along the way........Laughter gets you thru a lot of hard times...I appreciate you taking the time to see what I see..... As you might have noticed I have never written a biography about myself for over 2 years. I figured I had better write one now. I'm definitely not going to write my "BIO" in the third person, so that I sound more important than I really am. Should I warn you that I have "run on"...
