Lovely card
This downtown Seattle Store and Museum has been in Seattle for years. They have the most bizarre stuff in it. The Lord's Prayer on a piece of rice, other strange oddities. It's almost like an old fashioned freak show museum inside. They of course have all the newest souviners and tshirts and such.
Capturing a moment in time, is one of the best emotions. I love seeing something thru the lens and holding it near you as long as you can. I like for that image to be caught by surprise. A pure emotion. That to me is usually the most interesting. Anyways.... Photography is my medium. I do enjoy photographing those "Funny Animals" I see along the way........Laughter gets you thru a lot of hard times...I appreciate you taking the time to see what I see..... As you might have noticed I have never written a biography about myself for over 2 years. I figured I had better write one now. I'm definitely not going to write my "BIO" in the third person, so that I sound more important than I really am. Should I warn you that I have "run on"...

Well, Sylvester is the mummy in the back. I always act like I know him because it freaks the kids out. "want to see a dead body?' YESSSSSSSS so I take them there and show them Sylvester.
Kym Backland replied:
Christine... OOOOH, you made me LAUGH out loud for real! SYLVESTER The MUMMY.. I forgot that was his name., or maybe I didn't even know... . how funny, all this time I thought you meant the OWNER of the shop! That's hysterical! hehe..

CHRISTINE, Thank you for the feature of my photo YE OLDE CURIOSITY SHOP in your group THE GREAT PACIFIC NORTHWEST.. most appreciative Christine!

My old friend Sylvester is in there somewhere. I always take folks there to meet him when they visit Seattle. You know? I've never taken a photo of the shop like this and I'm so glad you did! voted
Kym Backland replied:
Christine, I remember you telling me this about your friend owning the place or running it, so I thought I would submit it to your group. It has a new façade. (I'm sure you realize this) but it spruced it up a bit! I mean YOU have to go to this place.. it's an iconic gem of the Northwest! Thanks for your vote!
Donna Parlow
I have been to this strange little shop. It is quite an experience. Nice capture
Kym Backland replied:
Hello Donna, it is weird isn't it. They built this new facade I would call it. So it look like they have fixed it up, but it is the same weird place, just looks a little better on the outside..thanks for stopping by...taking the time!
Phyllis Kaltenbach
I love this capture with the totems and the reflexions in the upper windows. V/F
Kym Backland replied:
Thank you so much Phyllis! I had replied to your comments a few days ago, but for some reason, they didn't appear! So I want to thank you so much for looking at my photo. I'm glad you noticed the upper windows, I think there are all sorts of "treasures" up there.. I appreciate your comments!
Lianne Schneider
Love this glimpse into another world, another culture. Beautiful and so very colorful!
Kym Backland replied:
Thanks for much for stopping by yet again Lianne. I need to get back over to your page and see what else you have been up to. I keep getting thrown off of the FAA, I guess they have been doing new construction on the site...
