Thank you so much for the fave, Wayne:>)

Cough, cough, me thinks I have a "furball" LOL I just love this fine macro shot of this caterpillar and the lovely green leaves it finds nutritious, Carol! Very well captured and superb presentation of mother nature's own artistic palette!

Mother Nature replied:

hahahahaha - loving the "furball" comment. It reminded me of pet people who say if you don't want hair on your clothes, don't sit on the furniture! Why do you think it's called "fur"niture? Thank you kindly for the feature:>)

Great capture!

Mother Nature replied:

Thank you, Doris:>)

Mother Nature replied:

You should have seen me run to keep up with him! (just kidding:>))

Oh I love wooly bears, it was the only caterpillar I'd touch when I was a kid, v/f

Mother Nature replied:

Hi, Sharon! How're ya doing? I know vacation is creeping up on you and you must be busy:>) Didn't we have un as kids with these little guys - thanks so much for the V/F.

I ordered two of these: one for me and one for a friend. Absolutely love them and my friend was delighted as well. So fun to be able to put favorite cartoons on an everyday object!

Artist's Description

This lovely orange caterpillar is one of the types of "wooly bear" caterpillars, of which the orange and brown ones are best known. The adult is the Virginia Tiger Moth, a lovely white, fuzzy moth. (It might also be another type of Tiger Moth but I'm giving this my best shot.). They are unspecific in their diet, and whenever I've found them they are on the ground or in the grass. This one was pretty large and happily grazing on weeds. The picture was taken August 25, 2012, in Green Lane, Pennsylvania, USA. About Mother Nature

I invite you to visit my blog - Nature's Wonders - which is all about the natural world in my neighborhood. http://mothernature2014.blogspot.com/ I always wanted to try photography, and my retirement offered an opportunity to do just that. The natural world is my first love. Here you will find pictures of things both large (landscapes, for instance) and small (macro) that catch my eye. I hope the images serve as a window into the natural world many of you don't have the chance to see. In a sense, I'm trying to create a guided nature trail, sharing what information I have about the subject. I'm always grateful for new and better information and welcome all input. Learning is food for the mind and soul. Nothing is ever...
