I was disappointed that the image on this pouch was not very clear. The zipper doesn't work real well, either.

I always wanted to try photography, and my retirement offered an opportunity to do just that. The natural world is my first love. Here you will find pictures of things both large (landscapes, for instance) and small (macro) that catch my eye. I hope the images serve as a window into the natural world many of you don't have the chance to see. In a sense, I'm trying to create a guided nature trail, sharing what information I have about the subject. I'm always grateful for new and better information and welcome all input. Learning is food for the mind and soul. Nothing is ever harmed in the picture-taking process, but some things that wander into our home (like spiders) are carefully removed from the house after they serve as "models"....

They look healthy, so good to see these beautiful creatures. Awesome wildlife photography Carol! L/F/Tw .... Wishing you a Merry Christmas my friend and a very special New Year!
Carol Senske replied:
Thank you for this generous comment and the holiday wishes, Bob! Our local deer are pretty healthy although increased hunting pressure has meant fewer huge bucks - fewer deer overall, I think. Our great good fortune is that we are surrounded by a decent sized Boy Scout camp (Musser Reservation) and another nice number of acres owned by the Natural Lands Trust. That is all on the downhill side of our property; go up the hill and you have people. I saw a flock of wild turkeys last week that numbered 14; they've been scare the last few years so this is reason to celebrate:>) May you and those dear to you all have a beautiful Christmas and the best New Year ever!
Clotilde Espinosa
A beautiful shot Carol...love deers but not snow :-) !! F/L.
Carol Senske replied:
Thank you my dear friend! I don't like the problems snow causes but I must admit I like snow - LOL. Can't have one without the other, though! Deer I love all the time, even when they eat my garden, so I spray all summer long with the 100% safe "Liquid Fence". They are welcome to eat whatever they want all winter long:>) Have a beautiful Christmas, Clotilde. We all need to feel the joy so let your heart sing:>)

A Lovely capture, dear Carole !! They look so cute and adorable in the midst of snow !!! God protects each one of his creations in different ways !!!! (F/L) Wishing You A Merry Christmas & A happy New Year, my friend......Latha..
Carol Senske replied:
Yes, we are all part of the balance:>) thank you for this beautiful compliment, Latha - you're lovely to come by. Wishing you and those you love a very Merry Christmas and a wonderful New Year!
Jeff Swan
Awesome capture
Carol Senske replied:
Thanks, Jeff. It was entertaining to watch them view for feeding spots, and a couple of the larger does would stand up on their hind feet and smack the little ones if they infringed on their "plate". LOL
Doris Potter
Wonderful shot! I love the look of their thick winter coats.
Carol Senske replied:
Aren't they amazing! They stood and the snow just piled up on their backs - didn't melt. Their guard hairs must have terrific insulating value! They are young and the fur is really think and fuzzy:>) So cute.

Great photograph. We lived in Wisconsin for a number of years and we had these in our back yard....eating our landscaping!! Love them so much. F/V +++
Carol Senske replied:
Isn't it funny how we adore them yet decry their diets! I spray Liquid Fence all summer long to deter them, then get all excited and starry-eyed when they come close in winter!
