About this Group
Cape Ann is in the North-Eastern part of Massachusetts that lies about 30 miles North of Boston and marks the northern edge of Massachusetts Bay. Cape Ann includes the city of Gloucester, and the towns of Essex, Manchester-by-the-sea, and Rockport. (Although I will also include Ipswich and Magnolia and the other little villages and towns therein)
I have a 2 image per/day rule and make sure your description states where on Cape Ann the image can be located. IMAGES THAT ARE NOT SPECIFICALLY OF CAPE ANN WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED!!
There are beach areas, lighthouses, lobster boats, and Motif #1, towns and villages. (And so much more) Just visiting all the lighthouses could take you a long time and if you only come in for short visits, then it may take a lifetime.
I lived on Cape Ann for a dozen years and have painted the area extensively. My husband, artist James Oliver, is a Cape Ann native and has made me very familiar with so may out of the way spots there. I'm always in awe of what I find!
The artists that post here are capturing the the most incredible and romantic areas of Cape Ann and while the area is small over all, it is huge on beautiful coastal scenery. The artists (photographers and traditional mediums) if they are featured is because they all the best I've seen.
