About this Group

Strangest Or Most Unique AnimalsThis FAA Group is for PHOTOS ONLY (with VERY LIMITED COLOR ENHANCEMENT -- NO DIGITAL ARTWORK, PAINTINGS or CARTOONS) of uncommon, strange and unique animals, insects and creatures. ALL ENDANGERED SPECIES ARE WELCOME! Please check:

http://www.fws.gov/endangered/species/us-species.html or

http://www.earthsendangered.com/list.asp or http://www.iucnredlist.org

If possible, please indicate the name of the animal in the title and provide a description as to what makes the animal rare, strange or unique if found in North America. If the photo submitted is a commonly found animal, it will be rejected, unless it is a rare 'albino' toned animal. Strictly no dog or cat pets allowed--no matter how rare the breed. No squirrel, chipmunks, hamsters, gerbils, guinea pigs, goldfish, garter snakes, box turtles, rabbits, or other common household pets. No common birds like sparrows, blackbirds, starlings, crows, pelicans, seagulls, pigeons, blue herons, mallard ducks, Canadian geese, cardinals, robins, or other typical fowl found throughout the North American continent. No livestock, horses, pigs, chickens, bulls, or cows--but I say buffalo are okay since they are still pretty rare. I also consider most bears, deer, elk, wild boar, turkey, and other hunted animals as 'common' and therefore should not be posted. Most rare zoo animals, unusual pets (except those listed above) and unique wildlife are acceptable for posting to this group. Insects are also acceptable if they are 'unusual' in color or features, or rare in some way. For example, I have featured a 'pink dragonfly' which is unusual compared to other more common-colored dragonflies.

Only truly unique animals are allowed--the group owner retains sole judgement as to what constitutes 'unique' or 'strange' without further explanation. I may also permit animals doing 'strange' things that make me laugh--but again, no dogs or cats please. No digital artwork!

RULES: Photography Only. No digital alterations, digital painting, mixed media, selective color, false backgrounds, added graphics or text allowed. Artists who continue to submit flowers, paintings or digital designs will be booted from this group immediately!

Limit 5 photos per day.
