Reynolds I Became Insane With Long Intervals Of Horrible Sanity Edgar Allan Poe By Wingsdomain Art And Photography

On October 3, 1849, Poe was found delirious on the streets of Baltimore, "in great distress, and... in need of immediate assistance", according to Joseph W. Walker who found him. He was taken to the Washington Medical College where he died on Sunday, October 7, 1849 at 5:00 in the morning. Poe was never coherent long enough to explain how he came to be in his dire condition and, oddly, was wearing clothes that were not his own. He is said to have repeatedly called out the name "Reynolds" on the night before his death, though it is unclear to whom he was referring. Some sources say that Poe's final words were "Lord help my poor soul". All medical records have been lost, including his death certificate. -wikipedia

Photographer Releases New Book

December 10th, 2017 - Cumberland, MD

Photographer Releases New Book

Local photographer, Jeannette Z. Hunt, has released a new book: Explorer’s Guide to Wildlife Adventures. “For years I was showing wildlife photography in local and regional art galleries” says Jeannette, “as I talked to clients about my work the conversations almost always lead to the question of where the image was captured. I started to realize people wanted to go and have their own wildlife experience. That is what the Explorer’s Guide is all about, learning where and when to go to have your own wildlife adventure.”

The Explorer's Guide (ISBN-13: 978-1975711351) covers 15 locations in 8 states in the East from Maine down to Florida. Readers will learn where to go to feel the mist of the humpback whale when it exhales or witness the comical sound of the snowy egret during mating season. Plus, they will learn about the challenges and threats to the animals and their habitat and discover the history of how some species bounced back from facing extinction....

Confederacy-tied Artwork Comes Down At Camden High School

By Reggie Ponder

Staff Writer

Sunday, September 3, 2017

A student-created tile art piece depicting U.S. President Abraham Lincoln and Confederate President Jefferson Davis side by side has been removed from a wall outside the library at Camden County High School in the wake of recent controversies in a number of cities over monuments to the Confederacy.

“In light of the recent controversy in Charlottesville and throughout the country, we have recently removed the painting from the wall outside the media center,” said Camden County High School Principal Billie Berry.

The controversy turned violent — and deadly — in Charlottesville, Va., when a woman was killed as a man with ties to white supremacist groups drove a truck into a crowd of counter-protestors opposing the gathering of white supremacists in the city. The white supremacist groups rallied in Charlottesville in opposition to the city’s removal of a statue honoring Confederate General...

North Carolina School Takes Down Confederate-Lincoln Art

CAMDEN, N.C. (AP) — A high school in North Carolina has removed artwork outside its library that showed President Abraham Lincoln and Confederate President Jefferson Davis side by side.

Camden County High School Principal Billie Berry said there were no complaints about the artwork, but he thought it was best to act before the tile art cause any problems.

The artwork is one of several similar pieces at the school.

Berry told The Daily Advance of Elizabeth City there is a William Shakespeare-themed painting near the English classrooms and a mural about life on Earth on the science halls.

Berry says the Lincoln-Davis art was created along with a high school from Pittsburgh. Students used video chat to each paint half the tiles, then shared them.
