How This Couple Quit Their Jobs To Travel The World - Without Going Broke

How This Couple Quit Their Jobs To Travel The World - Without Going Broke

It started out as a joke.

After a long day at work, Kelly Cueto might have suggested to her boyfriend quitting their jobs to travel. Or Max Blumenthal would say it before returning to the office Monday morning after a long weekend.

At the end of last year, the couple finished up their last days working in commercial real estate in San Diego. They sold some of their belongings, put the rest in storage and moved out of their apartment. As of Jan. 6, as they put it, the couple has been unemployed, homeless and happier than ever.

"It’s not like we hated our jobs at all," Cueto said. "We hated the things that came along with working in those careers."

Both working in San Diego's commercial real estate market, the couple put in long hours at the office and couldn't step away from their cellphones.

Cueto, 28, and Blumenthal, 34, are now more than halfway through a yearlong, worldwide trip.

It started with a road trip from California through...

HELENA WIERZBICKI - THE EXPRESSION OF A CHROMATISM.

Helena Wierzbicki The expression of a chromatism. When visualizing the work of Helena Wierzbicki, the expression of a feeling expressed in latent colors is detected, creating an atmosphere of light that breathes strength and sensitivity.

Because of its powerful chromaticism and refined profiles to the environment of its enigmatic figures, it creates a magnetism of seduction in its totally balanced work.

Artist Cheryl Ehlers And Heritage At The Brooks Theatre Art Gallery

Oceanside, Brooks Theatre Gallery, October 5, 2019, 5-9pm will present the exhibition “Heritage” during the First Friday Art Walk and Foxfire performances.

Cheryl Ehlers and members of the Sargent Art Group will be presenting art unique to the Appalachian culture which coincides with the Oceanside Theater Company’s production, Foxfire, set in the mountains of the Appalachians, the production is an anthology of wisdom and simplistic lifestyles. Much of the fascinating Appalachian lore woven into the play is drawn from the famous Foxfire books, the outgrowth of a north Georgia high school project in the ’60s that helped keep Appalachian culture and tradition alive through oral history. There’s bluegrass music with fiddle and banjo and dulcimer, the sweetness of homemade jams and jellies, brilliant quilts and handmade baskets and wooden toys. The old traditions of spinning, blacksmithing, and woodworking are as important as the traditions, folktales, and superstitions of...

Artist Marek Nenutil Aka Openmindz360 Published In Esquire Magazine

Who’s eyes can I trust to recount the world as I see it? To remove the flattering filters we use in this era of pop-social-media. I want to share my testimony to the world through its pop culture and its consciousness, to combine these two forces to create PopCon art.

To ensure authenticity, I have developed a very deliberate method that begins creation without the use of sketches. I don’t ‘make up’ my subjects, or the worlds they inhabit, they are built up, from photographs collected from all over the world. I am proud that my art comes with evidence of reality, even if I do frequently add absurdity and irony into my work. My primary concern when creating to produce an authentic view of the world - even if it is skewed by me. I don’t aim to shock nor awe, but to provide an alternative lens threw which to see the world.

My go to medium of choice is a combination of acrylic with oil. There is a certain intensity and richness to it that few other mediums...
