Little girl floating mid-air, Amazing photo won first place

The final result of the 3rd annual “Art of Expression” photo contest sponsored by Sony has been revealed. William Lee, a photographer from Portland, Oregon, won the first place in the Expressive Portrait category with a photograph of a floating little girl, captioned “Morning surprise”.
According to the statistics of organizer, the 3rd annual Art Of Expression Contest received more than 14,000 entries from across the United States this year, the competition was fierce.
The awarded photos in this contest will be published in the November 2012 issue of Outdoor Photographer magazine and the November 2012 issue of Digital Photo magazine. The prize for the first place is a Sony a77 DSLR camera kit with a 16-50mm zoom lens (ARV: $1,999.99).
The first place of the expressive portrait category is the photo captioned “Morning Surprise” by photographer William Lee from Portland, Oregon. The protagonist of the photo is William Lee’s daughter presenting the wonderful scene of floating in the mid-air under weightless state. All other bathroom stuffs are also floating in the air, even the spilled water drops are also somehow curdled in the air.
“The concept of the photo was finalized after communicating and discussing with my daughter.” said William Lee, “In order to present the status of floating human and objects, fish lines and wood board were used. My daughter, as the little model, have to keep her body in balanced position while enduring the pain caused by the tensioned fish lines on both sides of her body for a few seconds so I can focus and release shutter.”
He mentioned, It was hard to do it but the results were satisfactory, It’s even more exciting being the winner of the contest. To appreciate the serious and cooperative attitude of his daughter, William Lee has purchased a gift for her.
