Ridley Terminals Purchased Artwork From Northern BC Artist Rayna Dehoog

November 4th, 2013 - Smithers, BC

In the past two years Ridley Terminals Inc. (RTI) has spent $100,000 purchasing art pieces from northern BC artists. The initiative was so successful that they are doing it again for 2013. The announcement was made at the West Coast Wild art show at the Lester Center on Tuesday, March 12, 2013.

The premise behind the initiative is to support the fine arts by purchasing art work from northern BC artists, then donating the purchased art to charities to use in their fundraising efforts. This process allows for the distribution of northern BC art to various locations throughout the province, which benefits the artist, as they become known to a larger audience. In addition, the charities benefit from the art work by using it in their fundraising endeavours.

Three external judges will review all of the submissions and make the final art selections.

Once all of the submissions are received The Museum of Northern BC has agreed to showcase all of the art that we have purchased through this initiative in their gallery. Once the exhibit closes, the art will be packaged up and donated to various charities.

To Rayna Dehoog,

I am pleased to inform you of your successful submission to the 2013 Ridley Terminals Northern

Art Initiative. The judges have deliberated and they have chosen your piece entitled Tiger of the

Streams, which is priced at $2500.00. You can expect a cheque in the mail in 3-4 weeks.

All of the art pieces that we will purchase will be displayed at the Museum of Northern British

Columbia in Prince Rupert during the month of November, therefore we require your piece to be delivered to our office no later than September 16 2013. Once the details of the exhibit are finalized I will send you that information via email. As was stated in the initial proposal package, the price submitted in your proposal had to include crating and shipping. Please ensure your packaging is sturdy enough for repackaging to a secondary destination, as all artwork will be donated to registered charities to use in their fundraising efforts. Also, please make sure that your piece has the required hanging materials and accessories attached to it for proper display in the gallery.

We appreciate your interest in our art initiative and I look forward to receiving your art piece. If

you have any further questions please do not contact the museum, contact me directly at 250-627-3585 or by email at
