Karen Cattel is a special artist and her whimsical art looks great on the two sturdy totes I purchased. One is a gift for a friend and the other is for me. I love them.

I so appreciate being able to have this old-fashioned outdoor dinner scene on a tote bag. It is adorable. Thank you for making it available.

I noted that the color came out differently on this size of bag, it is distinctly more purple. I happen to love that color also--the larger size has perfect color, exactly like the photo. I love both of my bags.

After the Squall is from my imagination. The sea is magnificent.
Art is in the eye of the beholder. I will not write in the third person here. That sounds pretentious and, most of the time, inaccurate. Being in the last third of my life, it becomes clear good health is the finest gift possible. Again, nature provides the most beautiful inspirations. Walk into your own garden. Stroll a beach or a path in the woods. Watch the sun and clouds or a kitten playing with a piece of string. Pay attention to the faces you see...they each tell their own story. Create something wonderful that has a piece of your own heart on it. The emotions that drive us human beings also drive our art. The viewer is respectfully reminded my works are copyright protected. Please visit me often. Kindest...

Thank you Maria! The first time I saw the open ocean I stood transfixed in awe: Alive, moving, powerful, with an aroma like nothing I had experienced before. It was literally love at first sight.

very atmospheric painting, like the bird being blown by the wind, you seem to have an affinity with the sea

Thank you Calvin! This work is straight from my imagination. I do love visiting the open water over by Westport or Ocean Shores. Winter storms can be spectacular to watch!

Thank you Mike. We were at Ocean Shores today and the Pacific Ocean was boiling into land, kicking up clouds of sand trapped in the white froth. That ocean is a powerful drawing force--I have to see it every chance I get. While I live on Puget Sound, the tides and wave action in the Sound are not as strong as on the open ocean's edge.

Thank you so much for your wonderful comments on my paintings. Your biography is inspiring, and just goes to show that an artist will find a way to create because we MUST. You have such talent and have turned it to a new medium with amazing results. I love your work and this painting is my favorite.

Thank you, Kevin! That old ocean has me in its spell. I grew up in the mountains of Wyoming and did not even see the ocean until I was in my 30s. One look, I was hooked. ;-D
