Absolutely loved my print. The depth and details are spectacular and the quality of the print is fantastic. I framed this in a white frame and didn't have the exact size handy so kept the lower space intentionally open. I love how it came out.

I bought this for a friend who lived in France for many years. Now that she is back in the states she misses France her favorite country. When I spoke with her on the phone she absolutely loved it. It showed all the places she lived or visited. She loved that it had an antique flair. She is getting it framed when she can. This my gift for her to bring up her spirits. She has stage 4 cancer. We live in 2 different cities & are comrades & would do anything for each other. When I saw it in the website I knew I had to buy it. Great work. Artist's Description
Joseph Dalton Hooker (1817-1911), British botanist. Educated in medicine at Glasgow, Hooker served as Assistant Surgeon and Naturalist on Ross' Antarctic expedition of 1839-43. He then travelled widely, visiting India, Palestine and the United States. He published many books from his observations of indigenous plants, the greatest being 'Flora of British India' (1872-97). Later he succeeded his father, Sir William Hooker, as director of the Royal Botanical Gardens at Kew. He also joined Bentham in producing the immense 'Genera Plantarum', a seven-volume work on the classification of plants. He was elected president of the Royal Society in 1873. This 1855 artwork by George Richmond was reproduced in Hooker's 'Life and Letters', and is here hand-coloured following the original.
