Beautifully expressed rendition of the Shrine of the Bab. The frame and matting showcase the print. We have it prominently on our living room wall with other sacred pictures.

I think the frame and mat work very well with this, it is really impressive in person. Grouped with a small Grant Wood with high quality lighting it sets the mood for a Georgia farmhouse.
Artist's Description
Withstanding numerous storms, the St. Marks Lighthouse has been a navigational beacon for over a century and a half, guiding recreational, military, and merchant vessels from around the world to the mouth of the St. Marks River.
The structure consists of the light keeper's house attached to the 88 - foot tower, both resting on a 12- foot thick limestone base. According to local legend, the limestone blocks are from the ruins of old Fort San Marcos de Apalachee. Eighty-five steps spiral up the brick tower to the lantern room; the first seventy-two are wood and the last thirteen are iron. The tower walls are four- feet thick at the base, tapering to 18 inches at the top. From 1867 until 2014 the lantern room contained a fourth order Fresnel lens.
I feel that this infrared sepia toned version comes close to what I envisioned the old structure would have looked like in a photo from 150 years ago.

As a photographer, I use my camera to share with others my vision of the world. I have been making photographs for as long as I can remember. From images of nature and my surroundings growing up in northern Germany, to photo-journalism in Hamburg, Germany. I always gravitated toward a career in photography. Immigrating to the United States in the 1970s, I built a reputation in portrait photography, and ran a...
