Just what I wanted for a new iPhone. A special “Thank You” to artist ‘Serge Averbukh’ for the addition, at my request, to the design of my Navy rating, the lightening bolts (sparks as they are/were called) in the middle of the CPO insignia. I asked; he came through….When I use my phone, it brings back fond memories of my 20-year Navy career…. Thanks Serge….

The Appleton Cabinet. From, Hitchcock, Edward. 'Ichnology of New England. A Report on the Sandstone of the Connecticut Valley, especially its Fossil Footmarks'. Boston: William White, 1858. The book describes a collection of fossil footmarks assembled between 1836 and 1865 by the geologist Edward Hitchcock (17931864). He was state geologist of Massachusetts, USA, and President of Amherst College. By 1875 this collection consisted of 21, 773 tracks representing 120 species: the world's largest collection of dinosaur tracks, (Hitchcock believed he was finding the tracks of giant birds). In 1855, the collection was located in the lower level of Appleton Cabinet on the Amherst College campus. A sign visible here describes them as Nature's heiroglyphics". In the year this book was published Joseph Leidy discovered the first evidence of bipedal dinosaurs, and the tracks were re-assessed."
