Just what I wanted for a new iPhone. A special “Thank You” to artist ‘Serge Averbukh’ for the addition, at my request, to the design of my Navy rating, the lightening bolts (sparks as they are/were called) in the middle of the CPO insignia. I asked; he came through….When I use my phone, it brings back fond memories of my 20-year Navy career…. Thanks Serge….

Pen & ink drawing of a 1894 Haynes "Pioneer" Elwood Haynes known as an inventor of both stainless steel, stellite and different mechanical tools for measuring and transporting natural gas, was the designer of the Pioneer horseless carriage. Haynes hired the local machine shop owned by the Apperson brothers Edgar and Elmer with Jonathan Maxwell working the machines to build the Pioneer. Becoming the first horseless carriage built in Indiana and tested flawlessly on July 4, 1894. Soon after they built the "Pioneer II " with Elwood and the Apperson Brothers agreeing to start building horseless carriages for sale to the public, under the name of Haynes-Apperson Automobile Company. Selling to the public from 1897 till 1904, the Apperson Brothers had disagreements with Haynes causing a breakup of the company. Elwood Haynes took over producing his automobiles from 1904 - 1925, while selling out his patents which became the U.S. Stainless Steel Company and hi...
