Molecular model of gefitinib. Gefitinib is a new medicine; a selective inhibitor of the epidermal growth factor receptor's (EGFR) tyrosine kinase domain. It binds to the adenosine triphosphate (ATP) binding site of the enzyme and in this way inhibits the growth of malignant cells. C22 H24 Cl F N4 O3. Carbon in dark grey; Hydrogen in white; Nitrogen in blue; Oxygen in orange; Fluorine in light green; Chlorine in yellow-green.
