Just what I wanted for a new iPhone. A special “Thank You” to artist ‘Serge Averbukh’ for the addition, at my request, to the design of my Navy rating, the lightening bolts (sparks as they are/were called) in the middle of the CPO insignia. I asked; he came through….When I use my phone, it brings back fond memories of my 20-year Navy career…. Thanks Serge….

Haemolytic Streptococcus and E coli, Coloured scanning electron micrograph (SEM). Streptococci (yellow) are Gram positive cocci that grow in chains. Group A and B streptococci are two groups of beta haemolytic streptococci. Group A streptococci (GAS) are a cause of many infectious diseases both invasive and non invasive. Over one third of invasive GAS diseases are skin and soft tissue infections, the most severe being necrotizing fasciitis. Group B streptococci (GBS) are the leading cause of neonatal meningitis in the UK, accounting for 42-48% of positive cases. Escherichia coli (E.coli) (green) is a Gram-negative, anaerobic, rod-shaped bacterium of the genus Escherichia commonly found in the lower intestine. Virulent strains of E. coli can cause gastroenteritis, urinary tract infections, and neonatal meningitis. Magnification: x 4000 when printed at 10 centimetres wide.
