Artist's Description
Immature human germ cell in semen. Coloured scanning electron micrograph (SEM).The evaluation of sperm morphology includes the identification of other cell types present in semen such as immature sperm cells and leukocytes. The presence of immature germ cells in semen indicates spermatogenesis dysfunction at the testicular level, as the number of sperms decreases, the ratio of immature germ cells to total germ cells increases. Magnification: x9000 when printed 10 centimetres wide.
