Artist's Description
This was an actual scene along the California coastline around Pismo Beach. There were thousands of pelicans and other birds perched on the rocky cliffs where they would rest after diving for fish in the nearby ocean.
About Lorna Saiki
Lorna was born in Honolulu, Hawaii, attended the University of Hawaii and became a Pan American Stewardess. After a long career in the healthcare industry in Silicon Valley, she joined Gallery Morgan Hill and began to paint regularly in the oil media as a self taught artist. In 2006, she took first place for her painting of Anderson Lake in the Fall Open Juried Show sponsored by Gallery Morgan Hill and a first place in 2011 for oil media at the Valle del Sur Open Juried Show. She has received other ribbons from the Santa Clara County State Fair, Valle del Sur Art Guild and the City of Gilroy. In 2009 she joined the Valley Art Gallery in Salinas. Other places that have shown her works are Fast Frame in Morgan Hill, Solis Winery,...
