Just in case you didn't think a virgin giving birth to the son of god was psychedelic enough, here it is in living sharpie color, swirls, bauble-hats, bible-quotes and all. My version of the Madonna and Child from 2010, I really love this piece and I hope to share it with as many people as possible. It was a delight to draw it.

My marker artwork comes out of my many and varied experiences, but in the end they all boil down to this quote: I am simply trying to show how incredibly wound together we all are. My marker work is all done with cheap, mainstream markers such as Sharpies, Bic, and regular writing pens. I also have a few artist markers to cover the colors I don't have. The marker series began in the winter of 2008, and was predominantly inspired by the four months I spent studying at the University of Ghana. Since then, the predominant motifs in my images have been cities and colors linked to the colors of beautiful African fabrics.
