Artist's Description

This has a bit of everything in it, japanese lace and marble, and hand-painted papers, wire, beads, gutta and raised numbers and then paint was added in a thick paste to bring the support and the metal parts together. The name of course comes from the letters, but the beads were chosen to reflect "the daily grind" of daily life...too bad for a woman it does not stop at 5! The actual size is 8 1/2 x 10 3/4, but it is framed in an 18 x 14 textural coppery colored wood frame with a single white mat. I can send pics of it or sell it without the frame for 125,00

About Tara Milliken

Tara Milliken

I have been drawing and painting as long as I can remember and for years I was a realistic painter, I still love to paint realism and I am always captivated by the natural beauty all around us. In the last few years, I have grown a taste for pushing the envelope in my work and I am constantly experimenting with new techniques, new materials in my work, and now I am finding ways to use these things in my realistic work as well. I have been working on developing several series, things that I see all around me, things that I feel about what I see. I have come to the place where I want my work to be a statement, or statements about the human condition in all aspects. At any rate I am working in mixed media these days, I am so enjoying...
