Artist's Description

This collage depicts the famous French singer of the Forties and Fifties, Edith Piaf, with her last husband, Theo Sarapa. They sang together briefly before her death, which was two years after they married in 1960. The movie, La Vie En Rose, is about Edith Piaf's life.

E. K. Bogard is a resident of Texas USA with studios in Abilene and in Placitas, New Mexico. She was born in Arkansas and educated at S.M.U. in Dallas and UTHSC in Houston, TX. After careers in advertising and performance development, Elizabeth turned to painting full time, studying collage with Maureen Brouillette, drawing with Peter Ligon, painting with Suzanne Kelly Clark, and figurative painting with Mariles Vonk in the Netherlands.
