A Good Night's Rest by Jeff Burton captures the quaint setting of a hotel room in the Colony Hotel located in Bishop Hill Illinois. The light from the afternoon sun is all that illuminates the room and shines brightly across one of the beds. The bed mattresses are made of ropes strung between the slats of the bed frame and a chamber pot sits close by for the convenience of the rooms guest. A writing table provides an area for the weary traveler to write letters to their loved ones or to make notes in their journal. This image would be ideal in a living room, den or office exhibiting a classic, simple design style.
