Art is unquestionably one of the purest and highest elements in human happiness. It trains the mind through the eye, and the eye through the mind. As the sun colours flowers, so does art colour life. -- Congratulations on your recent sale of an amazing work!

Absolutely loved my print. The depth and details are spectacular and the quality of the print is fantastic. I framed this in a white frame and didn't have the exact size handy so kept the lower space intentionally open. I love how it came out.

I bought this for a friend who lived in France for many years. Now that she is back in the states she misses France her favorite country. When I spoke with her on the phone she absolutely loved it. It showed all the places she lived or visited. She loved that it had an antique flair. She is getting it framed when she can. This my gift for her to bring up her spirits. She has stage 4 cancer. We live in 2 different cities & are comrades & would do anything for each other. When I saw it in the website I knew I had to buy it. Great work. A big thank you for your talent & putting out there to buy your beautiful map!!!

Artist's Description

Adakame - This is a mid-century modern and atomic-age style abstract illustration. It reminds me of the 1950's space-age optimism, where the aliens were all strange and wonderful, and the cars had big wings and were nearly ready to fly. I remember when I was little, in the theatres before movies their were these psychedelic kaleidoscope / lava lamp shows, lifelike geometric shapes shifting and moving, colored oils oozing into biomorphic shapes. And I was hypnotized by them. They imprinted me. But I felt like I was seeing something no on else saw. It was almost like cloud watching, or like watching television static after all the stations went to sleep. You became singularly drawn to watching them, trying to find patterns in the noise, a meaning or a message, something recognizable in the chaos.

About Bill ONeil

Bill ONeil

I suppose my artwork inspirations include a few odd conspirators like the chaotic influences of cryptography, prime numbers, and decay. I'm also influenced by Eames-era artifacts, retro-modern abstract art, architecture, and advertising. And all these inspirations manifest themselves in the different pieces I produce. I also like to infuse art and design into everyday objects like mousepads. I like transforming work or home environments into more creative and inspiring places to be. I really never approach my art very logically. It’s all fairly impulsive and obsessive. I just try to understand what it means when it’s complete. I like to think of my style as a super-nautural fusion of urban graffiti, mid-century modern abstracts,...
