About Dona Maria Brown
Thirty years ago while beach combing in Key West, I found wonderful pieces of driftwood. I started painting objects on the wood and selling the items at street sales. My pieces were then exhibited at the Key West Art Center over many years. My Next destination was Annapolis, Maryland and the Chesapeake Bay that offered spider lighthouses, Skipjacks (oyster boats) and waterfowl. I salvaged the bottom of old roll boats that measured over eighteen feet long. They were commissioned and hung in restaurants and doctors' offices in the Maryland area. While living on the Bay, I was fortunate to meet and study with Wayne Willis who taught me to appreciate and respect nature and incorporate it into my works of art. Another noted artist...
