The aluminum sheet is offset from the wall by a 3/4" thick wooden frame which is attached to the back. The wooden frame includes a hanging wire for easy mounting on your wall (see photo on the left).

My husband and I had a lovely trip to Paris and southern France last July. While on a bus trip we were able to take a photo of this cafe that we share a name with. Our photo was a little blurry and not good for enlargement. Your wonderful photo now hangs in our own kitchen as a nice reminder of that trip. It is beautiful and of very good quality. We love it. Artist's Description
Alexander Kolin (1910-1997), Russian-born German-US biophysicist. Kolin is best known for his invention of the electromagnetic flow meter and of isoelectric focusing. His early studies were in Berlin, where his family moved in 1922 from Odessa, Russia. With the rise of Nazi Germany, Kolin emigrated to the USA and settled in Chicago. From 1956, he worked at the University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA), mostly on electrophoresis. He was awarded the John Scott Medal (1965) and the Alexander von Humboldt Award (1977). This photograph shows Kolin as Professor of Biophysics at UCLA's School of Medicine, Los Angeles, California, USA.
