About Kirk Wieland
Kirk Wieland has always had a love of creativity and detail, from his career as a trained chef to more than 35 years as a self-taught artist, exploring the beauty of natural subjects through drawing, painting and sculpting. Always venturing into new mediums and topics, Kirk is now working with polymer clay which allows him to create in three dimensions and explore the many angles, light and shadows of his completed works through a camera lens. His lifelong interest in exotic fish feeds his unique sea sculptures by blending vivid colors with whimsical underwater scenes. He has always wanted to have a no water, no maintenance aquarium store bringing local artists together to sculpt an ocean full of colorful creatures to occupy fish...
