Love the painting and the rich colorful blues, reds, greens, & yellows! A nice addition to our cowboy/southwest decor vibe.

Beautifully expressed rendition of the Shrine of the Bab. The frame and matting showcase the print. We have it prominently on our living room wall with other sacred pictures.

I think the frame and mat work very well with this, it is really impressive in person. Grouped with a small Grant Wood with high quality lighting it sets the mood for a Georgia farmhouse.
Artist's Description
One of my styles I've been developing since high school which was taught to me originally by my teacher, Charlie Johnson, is this ink over acrylic paint method. He originally used it with intention, as in he painted with acrylic paint, figures and flowing dream-like imagery and then applied layers of ink over that to enhance it. As the painting starts to build up, a concept or idea that strings it all together- a narrative of sorts, is usually found.
This piece focuses on the massive obsessions we have with the 'end date', the apocalypse, redemption, or whatever you may call it. Popularized recently in pop culture with movies like '2012', and 'The Day After Tomor...
About Israel Fickett

There I was able to explore art to my heart's content and paint, sculpt, build, dream, and pursue any project I had in mind. I took 16 art classes there and quickly decided I wanted to do this for the rest of my life, I then had a few years of study at Massachusetts College of Art & Design in Boston but left due to financial...
