Lovely card
Often times we are so busy with what we want or think we need to do, that we walk right past some of the greatest opportunities. This rainbow is yet another fine example of that very thing. As I scurried around to find that perfect shot of some birds in the setting sun I was distracted by an individual walking into my composition and thus scaring the birds away. Disappointed I turn to go back to the Jeep and that's when I looked up to see this in the sky behind where I was at.
I suppose good rainbow photos are not something that are easily sought after but more of being at the right place at the right time, and then being ready to repositions from ones set routine.
I wonder what else I might have missed......
I couldn't fit it all into the 24mm lens I had at the time so I had to quickly stitch it before it faded.
End results after cropping is a whopping 38.3 MP image.

A few years later I was introduced to film photography at Hunter School in Fairbanks Alaska. One of our first projects was to create a camera out of a round oatmeal...

I've spent much time in the country between Chico (my hometown) and Sacramento, but most of that time was before I had a camera in my hand. But I still remember the scenery, and a few rainbows, too! This is absolutely wonderful, Donni! Great job of stitching :) F/V
