Great storytelling, Ismael...your body of work is very unique! LF

There is a lot going on here but I love it. The terror in the riders eye really sets it off. Beautiful work.

A very good result, a well done statement.

Artist's Description

Having learned the Old Man in the Peanut's real name, as folklore dictates, I am able to conjure his appearance by its mere utterance. Under the Sage's tutelage, I have learned many techniques for extracting information from patterns. My latest lesson I was to randomly drip paint onto a canvas. After drying, I was made to carry it wherever I traveled, and, as a book, 'read' the lines until an image or scene came forward. Thus was born "Asleep At The Wheel" : A scene that takes place in the front seat of a small car. The driver is holding the wheel while also holding a beer bottle and is passing out. The female passenger sits saddle-style looking over in horror.

About Ismael Cavazos

Ismael Cavazos

Ismael Cavazos is an artist hailing from Austin Texas since 1994. Cavazos' unique way of seeing the world began with seeing images in clouds. Introduced to the Scribble Technique early in his art career, he believed the images he was finding were a kind of super power - the result of much comic book reading. The year was 1988 and at least a half dozen drawings exist from this period. Contributing to the rich history of the Scribble, Ismael created a vocabulary where there was none; unlike tea leaf reading, which has a name (Tasseography) the reading of scribbles had no title, simply a descriptive - the scribble technique. Thus, Scribblism was created: the art and practice of the scribble - and now that there was a name for the piece of pie...
