This is a painting that I did back in 2005 of part of a delightful little walk which runs alongside the local river in Borlange, Sweden. This was painted from one of the very few autumn photographs I've taken in Sweden prior to this year. So much has changed in those years since I did this. The most suprising thing for me with this painting is that it caused me a lot of trouble and I ended up painting two more versions because I was never happy with the result. Even the third version was not to my satisfaction. Nobody I showed the paintings to, could ever see what I didn't like and everybody had a different favourite. I have only this one time, felt the need to paint a picture three times. Even just a few months back, when I uploaded the paintings to Facebook, I still didn't like them, but strangely when I look at them now, suddenly I like all three versions.

I am an English Artist living in Borlange, Sweden since 2005. I have been painting on and off since the early eighties, in oils to begin with before moving on to watercolours. I also have an interest in photography which I have often used as part of my preliminary work for my paintings. In recent months, I have had a little extra time on my hands, which has fuelled my artistic fire.
