beautiful colors

I love the color scheme, Bruce. It really paints a wonderful portrait of bright, lively colors with the overhanging shadow of the death of seals.

Thanks, young pilot! If you had more time, I'd have stuck in a word or two -- like, "cruel," "tortuous." No doubt, as in most cases, the painter knows best! Peace, etc. Bruce

This is really amazing Bruce, I love the colour and grace I have a special affection for seals ( I spent 5 years in the Can Arctic) -I really enjoy the mystery and colour elements of your work, keep on reaching!

Bruce, what I think is most impressive on your paintings is the way you can paint feelings into it. We don't just see the awful fact here but also the emotion of the moment. It is this ability that makes your art unique.

Bruce, This is powerful.. I am sorry ab.. seal clubbing .The people who do this are the lowest form of life of & a waste of protoplasm. Do they not have have a heart? Reminds me of the dog-fighting fiends. My cousin, Animal Control Ofc.& Deputy Sheriff, recently told me the Michael Vick case did not deter dog-fighting rackets. -said that it INCREASED it. In a morbid way, the perpetrators think it is COOL. Bottom line is the MONEY. Peace, aew

Thank you all so much for your sympathetic comments and appreciation. You can see the figures across the page, that although few people have chosen to comment, well over a viewer a day average is still the average after 5 years posted. Thank you. Peace, etc., Bruce

About Acrylic Prints

Mounting Option #1

Mounting Option #2

Bring your artwork to life with the stylish lines and added depth of an acrylic print.   Your image gets printed directly onto the back of a 1/4" thick sheet of clear acrylic.

The image is the art - it doesn't get any cleaner than that!

All acrylic prints ship within 3 - 4 business days and arrive "ready to hang" with four aluminum mounting posts (Option #1) or hanging wire (Option #2).

The high gloss of the acrylic sheet complements the rich colors of any image to produce stunning results.

There are two different ways to mount your acrylic print.

Option #1 (Mounting Posts) - Attach your print to your wall with four aluminum mounting posts.   The cylindrical cap of each mounting post can be removed, allowing you to thread a small screw along the center axis of the of post and into the wall.   When you're finished, simply reattached each cap, and you're done.   The mounting posts act as stand-offs and keep your print separated from the wall by 1".   All of the required mounting hardware (i.e. posts, screws, and wall anchors) is included with your print.   Click here for mounting details.

Option #2 (Hanging Wire) - With this option, your acrylic print is attached to a 1/4" thick black board which has a wooden frame and hanging wire attached to the back.   There are no metal mounting posts at the corners.   Simply put a nail in your wall, hang your print from the hanging wire, and you're done.   Due to the thickness of the black board and mounting frame, your print is separated from the wall by 1.50"   Click here for mounting details.

Artist's Description

Hundreds of thousands of young seals are brutally clubbed to death every year for their skins. It is a cruel slaughter rather than a "hunt!" They are skinned immediately, often still alive and barking with the enormous pain. And this often happens in front of their protesting parents! The same unimaginably cruel skinning is practiced world-wide for any animals killed for fur! Many groups around the world are protesting with petitions and boycotting Canadian products. Many successes are being achieved at convincing famous stores to quit selling all kinds of fur, even fake. Many famous people have publicly denounced wearing fur, even imitation, and given up the practice. Copies of this painting and others on the topic are for sale at bargain prices with all profit going to end these horrendous massacres. Contact the artist for information on that and further information about helping to end this form of torture! Peace, etc., Bruce

About Bruce Combs - REACH BEYOND

Bruce Combs - REACH BEYOND

REACH BEYOND, my logo and general theme and goal, usually is the first painting on the left of the top row, or near there. Go ahead and click on it now to open it up for a much better look. And if you're interested, then just go on to more of the paintings. You can always come back and read what I wrote about me. But I seriously hope that these paintings present various facets of my perceptions of our world -- or wishes FOR it -- more vividly -- or at least differently -- than writing can. They mutely show what objects and situations I think merit attention and from what points of view I choose to present them and in what medium and style. I hope that perhaps some, or even a part of one, will touch and vibrate with some part of you,...
