A bald eagle diving for fish on the Wisconsin River at Prairie du Sac. This section of the river is downstream from the dam and thus ice free during the river. The eagles congregate here because feeding is easier in the water than on te snow covered land.
I am a nature and landscape photographer based in Madison, WI, with images from around the world. I am originally from Australia, but have lived in New Brunswick, Canada, and Socorro, New Mexico, before moving to Madison. I am trained as a geologist, and still teach introductory geology classes (need to pay the bills somehow).. The love of the outdoors has strongly influenced my photography, initially in Australia, but then in the the NW Territories of Canada (I was there doing geology), and the desert of New Mexico.
