Monroe School, one of four segregated schools in Topeka, KS began construction in 1874, it was rebuilt and changed hands multiple times, owned now by the National Park Service since 1993. It was designated a National Historic Landmark for its significance to the Brown v. Board of Education U.S. Supreme Court case that unanimously declared that "separate educational facilities are inherently unequal" and, as such, violated the 14th Amendment to the United States Constitution, which guarantees all citizens "equal protection of the laws." I am not completely opposed to experimenting with digitally altering a photograph; I do consider this art as well.
