I drew this image from a live performance, expressing how the music captivates, demonstrates our need to feel....feel blue, feel happy, feel longing for another time. I've listened to alot of jazz, rock, bluegrass, the list goes on..... and one constant is the bass. The heartbeat that brings life to the melody. Arms wrapped around the body, coaxing rhythyms and living, breathing soul from the strings.The double bass, also called the string bass, upright bass, bass fiddle, bass violin, doghouse bass, contrabass, bass viol, stand-up bass or bull fiddle, is the largest and lowest-pitched bowed string instrument in the modern symphony orchestra, with strings usually tuned to E1, A1, D2 and G2 (see standard tuning).
