Artist's Description
This small watercolor pencil drawing is of a blue marlin who is being fought in less than favorable seas. Marlin are fish that demand the most respect in my opinion and you haven't really experienced ultimate big game fishing until you have seen these beautiful and powerful fish. All marlin are exciting to see and their colors are almost impossible to duplicate with the pencil, but this is a small attempt on a small piece of watercolor bond.
This little drawing shows the fisherman in the background who is busy fighting the fish and probably not aware of the marlin yet - there is nothing like seeing a large marlin jump after hooking it and realizing that fish is truly on the end of your line. Marlin should always be released unless it's a possible world record. Copyright 2015 Sue Bonnar, no use without my permission.

About Sue Bonnar
Drawing and painting animals has always been my favorite choice in art and have been drawing since I was old enough to pick up a crayon. Art is part of what I do, not just something to do. I hold a degree in Commercial Art, worked in graphic and commercial art for several years, and studied Studio Art at the University of California, Riverside. My favorite subjects are animals, especially wild animals and birds. I have recently completed several hummingbird works and have been lucky enough to have my work selected for the Rockport-Fulton Hummer Bird Festival T-Shirt Art contest for 2014 and 2015. More recently my work titled "Catch of the Day" was selected for the 2016 Port Aransas Whooping Crane Festival T-Shirt art. I also enjoy...
