Be a good friend of those who fear Hashem.(From the Path of Life)
In the Book of Psalms if is taught that the beginning of wisdom is the fear of Hashem. In the
Chapters of our Fathers we are taught: Rabban Yochanon ben Zakkai asked his foremost students: go out and explore the straight path that a man should attach himself to… answered Rabbi Y’hoshuah ben Ch’naniah: a good friend.
Perhaps the most basic aspect of one who fears Hashem is his understanding of his accountability for all that he thinks, says, does. This consciousness is the beginning of all wisdom; that is, without this outlook one is void of wisdom. One void of wisdom will constantly damage himself, others and the world. Thus Avraham Avinu answered Elimelech that because he saw no fear of Heaven in his place he feared that they would kill him.
May Hashem guide us in the way to truly fear Him and to be good friends to those who do.
please note: as my artworks contain Words of Torah, they are considered as "d'varim sh'b'kedusha", objects with spiritual sanctity, and as such are subject to all the "halachot", concerning such objects; the same as "sifrei kodesh", holy books. Please bear this in mind when purchasing my works: that they be treated with the proper sanctity. In this, the blessing for you from these works for will be full. Also, to my Jewish appreciators: please refrain from viewing this website on the Sabbath. thank you --------------------------------------- David Baruch Wolk was born and raised in America.
