Description
Beautiful turquoise waters
along a stretch of beach
off of Highway 1 in Big Sur,
CA, USA. This is part of
the Julia Pfeiffer State
Beach just north of McWay
Falls. It is a gorgeous
area that is pretty protected
from the public. I took this
photo from the road above
the beach. I believe that
you can actually camp in
the area, by permit only.
I read somewhere that
they allow just a handful
of people at a time to
actually go down to the
beach to camp, and all
others can view the area
only from the road, or by
walking out on a boardwalk
that runs above the area
and gives a good view of
McWay Falls (a gorgeous
waterfall that falls down to
the beach below). But,
overall, they do work hard
to preserve the incredible
beauty of this special area!
